ERP Server Configuration Instructions

Overview​

This sample is an excerpt from enterprise software documentation I developed as part of a new Confluence knowledge base for an ERP solution. In addition to creating the documentation platform, I developed its initial installation, configuration, and usage content to provide users with a structured self-service documentation resource.

Challenge​

The client needed a centralized documentation resource that could help users install, configure, and work with its ERP solution while reducing reliance on direct support.

I joined the project without prior experience with the client's software or with developing a documentation site in Confluence, requiring me to learn both the product and the platform while building the documentation resource.

Solution​

I learned the ERP solution through client walkthroughs and independent exploration while developing the Confluence skills needed to design and build the documentation platform.

I established the knowledge-base structure and developed its initial installation, configuration, and usage content around common user and administrator tasks. The configuration instructions shown in this sample are an excerpt from that larger documentation effort.

Result​

The project established a structured Confluence knowledge base that gave users access to installation, configuration, and usage guidance in a centralized self-service resource.

During a subsequent project, the client reported that support calls had decreased by approximately 50%.
